During the PTF check all PTFs installed on your iSeries are compared with the Information APAR. The Information APAR is stored in directory /usr/sap/trans/config.
To start the PTF check, call transaction DB4COCKPIT. In the navigation frame, choose Diagnostics ® PTF Check.
· The first table, PTF Check on all Hosts, displays a list of all hosts on which a PTF check was performed. That is, all hosts on which instances of the system you are logged on to, are installed and are active.
Ў If the status of the PTFs is correct, that is, no PTF is missing and none is corrupt, the traffic light in the Status field is green:
Ў If the status of the PTFs is not correct, the traffic light in the Status field is red:
· To see which PTF caused the mistake, click the corresponding host.
In the second table , PTF Check on <Host name>, all PTFs of the host you chose are listed. A red traffic light in the Status field indicates that the corresponding PTF is missing or corrupt.
· To display information on a particular PTF, choose Display PTF Status.
Enter the necessary information and confirm with Enter.
In the PTF Status field, the status of the PTF is displayed.
· To upload the Information APAR from a local file of the presentation server to your iSeries, you:
a. Choose Upload Information APAR.
The dialog box Import Information APAR appears.
b. Enter the path of the local file of the presentation server from which the Information APAR is uploaded to the iSeries.
c. Confirm with Enter.
Do not use the HTML version of the Information APAR. Use the version that is available from sapserv (x) instead.
