Cockpit for iSeries

Use

You can access all database monitoring functions using the Cockpit for iSeries in CCMS.

The Cockpit for iSeries is a navigation frame that appears on each CCMS screen. The frame holds the tree structure, which is divided at the top level into the main monitoring areas. These are:

You start the Cockpit for iSeries by calling transaction DB4COCKPIT. The initial screen Database Monitor Overview appears. For more information, see Overview.

Features

You can use the Cockpit for iSeries to:

  • Navigate between different monitors
  • Change to another monitor without closing the previous monitor and still hold all data retrieved by this action. By double-clicking the previous action in the navigation frame or by choosing BACK, you return to this action without any loss of data.

Monitors

The Cockpit for iSeries provides a number of monitors to help you observe and record certain activities for analysis within the database. The monitors within the database monitor observe and analyze SQL statements. Other monitors, such as the SQL package monitor or the lock monitor, inform you about SQL packages and lock situations. You can recognize monitors in the Cockpit by the following icon:
