Viewing the Error Log with the Enterprise Manager


The error log is a central file in which all the important actions and error messages concerning the database are recorded. The database administrator should examine the log every day.



       1.      In the Enterprise Manager, expand the server, Management and SQL Server Logs.

All currently available logs are displayed.

       2.      Choose the error log you want to see, for example the current log or one of the archived logs.

The date beside the log indicates when it was archived.

The messages in the log are displayed in the right-hand pane. You can display the last six logs in the Error log menu.
