Composite Application Services DC

Definition

A Composite Application Services DC contains all elements required for a Composite Application Services project. These are Dictionary objects, metadata and Java classes. If you select a Composite Application Services DC, four projects of the types Dictionary, Metadata, EJB Module and Enterprise are created. However, in the Composite Application Services perspective, in the Service Explorer navigation view only one project is visible; the other four projects become visible only when you use the navigator view.

Prerequisite

For Composite Application Service development with SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI), a track with the following Software Component Build dependencies has to be configured (the names of .SCA files could be different, they may include version numbers):

?      DI BUILD TOOL 7.00 (SAPBUILDT_xx.sca)

?      SAP J2EE ENGINE 7.00 (SAPJEE_xx.sca)

?      SAP JAVA TECH SERVICES 7.00 (SAPJTECHS_xx.sca)

?      BI META MODEL REPOSITORY 7.00 (BIMMR_xx.sca)

?      BI UDI 7.00 (BIUDI_XX.sca)

?      CAF EU 7.00 (SAPEU_XX.sca)

?      SAP CAF 7.00 (CAF_xx.sca)

?      SAP CAF-KM 7.00 (CAFKM_xx.sca)

Build Results

The product of a Composite Application Services DC consists of three archives. These are a Software Deployment Archive (SDA) for the Dictionary project, and one Enterprise Archive (EAR) each for the Metadata and for the Enterprise project. They can be deployed on the server.

To create the archives locally, use the DC build from the context menu of the Composite Application Services project in the Service Explorer - Development Component ® Build...

Perspective/View

Composite Application Services DCs can best be edited in the Service Explorer in the Composite Application Services perspective.
