SAP Learning Solution LSO 200

Purpose

The SAP Learning Solution, a blended learning solution offers you an all-round, Web-based solution forall your learning needs. It covers both traditional classroom training and computer-based training, known as e-learning. The chief components of the solution are:

·        Learning Portal

Learners log on to the enterprise portal via Web browser, from where they access the learning portal containing details of the corporate training and education offering presented in a clear, personalized form. From here, the learner can register for courses. If company-specific regulations dictate, an approval process is triggered and the registration request is routed to the employee’s supervisor for approval or rejection.  

The administrative processes involved in planning, completing, and canceling e-learning courses and curricula are handled by the back-end system, Training Management. The Training Management system is integrated with other applications to enable billing and internal activity allocation. Training Management is a component of the SAP Learning Solution.

·        Learning Management System (LMS)

This system controls the individual learning process and uses didactic strategies to guide the learner through the course, according to his or her personal learning style and progress. It records and stores learning objectives achieved by the learner and test results.

·        Authoring Environment

As an author or instructional designer, you can quickly and efficiently create and update course content with the help of prescribed templates, tailored to the needs of specific groups of learners. Existing course content can be used and interactive elements such as simulations and tests can be integrated.

The training administrator has direct access to content stored in the Authoring Environment when planning and creating the course ctalog.

External authoring tools can be integrated seamlessly.

·        Content Management System (CMS)

The Content Management System stores and manages learning content.

In addition to its own content management system, the SAP Learning Solution provides a Web-based distributed authoring and versioning (WebDAV) interface, which enables WebDAV-compatible storage systems to be used.

The SAP Learning Solution is based on the existing Training and Event Management system. We adopted and extended the existing Training and Event Management BW Content for the SAP Learning Solution (LSO200). The SAP Business Information Warehouse provides you with a meaningful analysis tool, which you can use to report on SAP Learning Solution data. For example, you can use the following queries:

Implementation Considerations
