Hotel Bookings by Geographical Hierarchy

This query display all hotel bookings, listed according to a geographical hierarchy of IATA locations. The hierarchy groupings are based on the regions that you have defined in Customizing for the R/3 component Travel Management.

The data is based on the hotel bookings made with the R/3 component Travel Planning via the connected reservation system. The number of booked hotel rooms, nights and the total price are displayed per hotel location (for example worldwide, continent, country, town or IATA location). You can evaluate the results in further detail by using additional drilldowns, for example hotel chain, room type or rate category.

You can also restrict reporting to a specific time frame:

• Display by quarter
• Display by calendar year

If you select a filter value, only the data for the quarter or calendar year entered is displayed. To view the values of several quarters or years next to one another for comparison, use the appropriate time characteristic to expand the evaluation.

You can use this query, for example, to answer the following questions:

• For which regions/ locations were the most hotel bookings made?
• Which regions/ locations have the highest hotel prices? (You can support this analysis by defining an average value for Price per hotel night).
• By using the additional drilldown for hotel chains: What kind of major customer rates can we negotiate based on this information?
