The message CGDB retrieves a bytestream of a stored document, that is, it enables an area of a large data object specified by offset and length to be accessed. This command is used particularly for technical document classes ALF and REO.

The 'offset' parameter defines the byte position in the stored file, from which the bytestream is to be returned. If the offset exceeds the size of the stored document, the code 765 ‘Above data limit’ must be transferred in the return code of the RGDB command (see Specific Return Codes).
The parameter ”Length” defines the length of this byte stream.

The RFC command CGDB leads to greater performance of the SAP ArchiveLink interface with specific access to a sub-object of a large stored document (for example, with ADK access to an individual record).

To call this RFC command, it is necessary to maintain a content server that supports the interface version 0031.
