Data Formats of Character Attributes

Character attributes (fields) (CHAR) are exported and imported only in uppercase letters. Predefined conversion exits convert the values of character fields from an external to an internal format and vice versa. f you do not want the values to be converted, you can deactivate the conversion exit.

The following conversion exits are available:

·        ALPHA

When the field contains only numbers (0123456789) the number is left-justified. Otherwise the external format of the field value does not change.

·        AOBAR

The external format of the field value does not change. (language-dependent)

·        NUMCV

If the field contains only numbers (0123456789), the number is right-justified and filled with leading zeros. Otherwise, the external format of the field value is condensed and left-justified.

·        PROJN

If you define an editing mask in Customizing for the Project System, the field value reflects this editing mask.

 

Special characters are ., : \

The editing mask is A\XXX.000,XXX:000.

ABC112233 is converted to 'A\BC1.122,33

ABC\11,22:33 is converted to 'A\BC.011,22:33

ABC.11.22.33 is converted to 'A\BC.011,22:33

·        SCOPE

The external format of the field value does not change. (language-dependent)
