Number Range Object Types

The distinctions by sub-object, group, and until financial year give rise to eight number range object types:

  • Objects without sub-object
    • without group

(1) one, two, or several number ranges

    • with group

(2) one number range, external or internal per group

(3) two number ranges, external and internal per group

  • Objects with sub-object
    • without group

(4) one, two, or several number ranges

    • with group, independent of sub-object

(5) one number range, external or internal per group

(6) two number ranges, external and internal per group

    • with group, dependent on sub-object

(7) one number range, external or internal per group

(8) two number ranges, external and internal per group

In the object types 1 and 4, the number ranges are managed in the individual applications. Different numbers of number ranges can be created. The program that calls the number range maintenance decides on the number of number ranges and how they are to be used. In the other cases, the assignment between groups and elements and number ranges is maintained via the standard maintenance dialog.

All eight object types can also be distinguished by until financial year. This ultimately means that 16 different number range object types can occur.
